This is a 14 minute audio taken from January ‘Medical Talk’. To find out more on ‘Medical Talk’, look through the ‘Products’ section.

The febrile child is a common presentation in the emergency department. Fever including febrile convulsions is something we see almost on a day to day basis. We need to have an approach that allows us to diagnose the maximum number of potentially dangerous causes of fever, whilst keeping in mind that we do not need to perform lumbar punctures or other procedures on every child.

The different ages of children will present different challenges and be associated with different infection types.

Please note this audio is one of three parts in the audio series.
